Most of you know me as Dave_NC from the chat or from the graphic design stuff I have helped with on the FVF site. First, I would like to thank everyone in the FVF family for putting this together and helping to spread the word on CCSVI and MS. I am sure you are asking what is CCSVI, MS, and what does it have to do with Dave_NC? It’s not possible for me to cover everything here but I will give you the basics as quickly as I can. In August of 2008 I awoke one Saturday unable to see out of my left eye. After a rather heart wrenching journey I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in October of 2008. For those not familiar with MS, it has always been categorized as an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord (Central Nervous System). MS is a very unique disease and affects everyone differently and to varying degrees. In 2009 a breakthrough discovery was made, called CCSVI (Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency). To put it simply as possible CCSVI is a plumbing problem in your veins, where blood can’t drain from the brain and spine because of blockages. Through tests, blockages are identified, then treated with an angioplasty procedure using balloons or stents. This has been named the Liberation Treatment, because MS patients are being liberated from their symptoms. The treatment is giving many with MS their functional lives back. It is truly remarkable. In June, I decided to move ahead and get the treatment. I am in full fund raising mode to help me afford the procedure, as I await the exact date for treatment. FarmVille Freak Liberate Dave Contest Update!

Facebook Credit Gift Card Image Provided by Usa Today What will top your holiday gift list this upcoming season?  I would venture to guess that quite a few FarmVille Freaks will be asking for the new and upcoming Facebook Credit gift cards.  As reported by USA Today this past week, Facebook Credit gift cards will become available for purchase from Target stores sometime in September (along with several other retail stores by the end of 2010). The cards will be sold in quantities of $15, $25 and $50 USD in stores across America as well as online at Target.com.  Facebook Credits can be used among the many social games played through Facebook to purchase virtual goods. A picture of Facebook Credit gift cards (left) showed a slogan of “The quick & easy way to get premium items in your favorite games and applications”. As USA Today pointed out “this will be the first time Facebook has had any presence in a retail store”.  The sale of these Facebook Credit Gift Cards will demonstrate for the first time the profit Facebook can make by their major role in the social gaming world.  Once again I want to know, Does Facebook need games like FarmVille? Or, does FarmVille need Facebook? With users being able to purchase something ‘physical’ from Facebook, that will surely display their money earning power in a real way to users.  I know I have felt a lack of support from Facebook in several situations, such as security breeches or lack of customer support in general.  Lets hope the “10 million active users a month”, or even demand, that Facebook improve user support and privacy options. Today’s September 3rd 2010 FarmVille Podcast has been canceled. There will be no official FarmVille Podcast this week. However, FarmVillle announced via the official FarmVille Forum that the FarmVille Podcast will now take place biweekly.This seems like a good move on Zynga’s part considering that even though previously the Podcasts were once a week, they were often post-poned or rescheduled. The decision to move to a bi-weekly basis was made to improve the quality of the information featured in the Podcast. The next official FarmVille Podcast is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 10, 2010 “Hi Farmers! The FarmVille Podcasts will now be posted on a Bi-Weekly basis, as opposed to weekly. This decision has been made to improve the quality of the information we are able to provide. Due to this change, the next podcast will be posted on September 10th, 2010.
